" Me" Time and having FUN !!
There's been a bit of a theme going on in my recent coaching with lots of people in what I call "running on empty" mode - i.e not having enough "Me" time to relax, replenish and revive their energy.
But like my little red mini, which needs petrol from time to time or it will run out end up sitting on the side of the road and be useless to me, we all need to pop a bit of energy into out emotional tanks regularly !!
But lots of Mums don't ..... they feel guilty, they worry about others and they put themselves at the bottom of the "to do list"
Well..... I'm here to tell you THAT'S NOT A VERY GOOD IDEA !!!!
As you will feel exhausted, grumpy, short temperered and overwhelmed and may even end up depressed and feeling low - and you will probably shout at your kids more which is not a great strategy in the long run.
So I am organising my new Club - the "Me" Time Mums Club in Sunny Surrey and the first one is on WEDNESDAY 2nd December in Godstone at The Bell Inn - and I hope to run them every month - with a bit of pampering from 7.30 - 9.30 pm in the evening while having a mini manicure, facial or massage - all tasters for a "Tenner" and everyone's welcome to come and pamper themselves and have a bit of "ME" time so you go back refreshed, revived and raring to go again with your kids !
So if you'd like to pop along drop me an email at sue@positive-parents.com or give me a ring on 01342 833355 or click on here for more details (don't you just love the logo my friend Lori McDonough designed) Her website is just soooo lovely click on => Fresh Picked Whimsy
And if you are a Manicurist, Indian Head Massage or Beauty Therapist or anyone in the nurturing therapy business who would like to come along and give tasters to my Mums - give me a ring too as I'm just off to try and sort out regular mums who would like to come along and join in the fun !
And here's another idea that popped into my inbox this morning that I thought I'd pass on to you..... called
Just Playing?
We all recognise the value of play for children, but why?
We understand that play has important educational benefits, it helps children develop and try out different roles in life but what else does it do?
Recent research shows without any doubt that play gives us so much more and that the benefits are not only confined to children.
Science used to tell us that once our brains had "developed" (at around age 8) they were fixed.
During the last 10-15 years those findings have been completely overturned as a result of recent advances in brain science.
We now know that we can totally reprogramme our neural pathways and this has lead to the development and popularity of, for example NLP.
The growth in brain science is rapid and changes constantly, but one thing is clear.
One of the easiest ways to achieve an optimum state for adults (and children) to heal from trauma, to develop and grow and to become able to achieve our full potential is to enter a "Creative" or "Flow" State.
This does not mean we need to be producing great art, it refers to the state of absorption we naturally fall into when we become involved in creating, working either collaboratively or alone, in short, when we play!
The Flow or Creative State is an "altered state" similar state to that achieved through meditation, but by using play, it is so easy to get there.
For more brain development theory in an easy to understand format watch the movie "What the Bleep?"
And to experience the flow state that will enable you to move towards your full potential, join one of Mica's unique
Adult Play Days!
Come away from the day feeling great, more relaxed, more confident and more in tune with your true self.
A Play Day will enable you to create (and strengthen) new and positive neural pathways.
Once these positive pathways are created you only have to continue doing things that make you feel good to maintain a you fully in touch with your inner childlike creativity.
We'd love to meet you at one of these Play Days. Come along and join the fun!
