What is a parent coach?
A parent coach provides a professional and personal external perspective of your family relationships, in order to help you develop your own parenting skills. Parent Coaches offer a supportive and encouraging role whilst taking you from where you are now in your family relationships to where you would like to be. They understand that no one knows your family better than you and they will give you the tools and mechanisms you need to unlock your own resources to assist you in bringing up happy, confident, well-balanced children.
What is the difference between coaching and counselling?
Parent coaching is very different to counselling. Counselling focuses on your past, helping you to heal emotional pain or conflict and assisting you in dealing with these issues in your day to day life. Parent coaching however focuses very much on the present and the future, assisting you as a parent in actioning strategies to achieve specific goals which will have positive influences on your family life for the future.
What are the benefits of coaching?
Parent coaching offers you a confidential, non-judgmental and non-critical environment where you can discuss and resolve any issues which have been worrying you about family life. Where will coaching take place?
Positive Parents coaching sessions can take place either in the relaxed surroundings of our coaching premises in Lingfield, Surrey or if you prefer, can be conducted from the comfort of your own home in a one-2-one coaching session over the telephone.
Is the coaching confidential?
Parent coaches are bound by a duty of care, whereby if we feel that children or family members are in any danger, then certain information may need to be disclosed to the relevant authorities; however it is important to acknowledge that these situations are extremely rare.
In normal circumstances absolutely everything discussed within our coaching sessions is strictly confidential and will not be passed on to third parties.
How many sessions will I need?
Each parent and the problems they are facing are completely unique, so the number of sessions needed very much depends on your own individual requirements. There is no ‘norm' when it comes to coaching, so Positive Parents have a number of coaching packages that are specifically tailored to offer a solution to all parents whatever your own individual requirements.
What if I need support between sessions?
The flexibility of the Positive Parents coaching packages allows for an ongoing level of support for you whatever your requirements. We offer ongoing telephone coaching sessions for one-2-one chats, an email coaching service to support parents if you simply want to discuss your concerns online or individual face to face coaching sessions can easily be booked as additional sessions if required.
How can I book coaching sessions?
You can book sessions by either calling us on 01342 833355 or by using the online booking facility on our website, which processes your payment securely through PayPal. Whichever way you choose to book your coaching sessions, Positive Parents will send you confirmation of your booking upon receipt of your order.
How much will coaching cost?
The cost of coaching largely depends on the duration of your individual coaching requirements. Positive Parents believes that offering flexibility in our coaching packages is essential to cater for all situations. So whether it's an initial one off session you require, for as little as £85 per hour, or an ongoing coaching programme across a number of weeks, you'll find our prices are both cost effective and flexible to your needs.
How do I pay for coaching?
You can pay for coaching either by using WorldPay secure online service on this website where all major credit and debit cards are accepted, or by calling us and arranging payment via cheque or BACS payment in advance of your coaching sessions.
How do the workshops work?
Positive Parents workshops are held in informal surroundings and bring people together who have a desire to explore the scope of their parenting skills. The workshops are both fun and rewarding and aim to offer an environment where you and other parents can discuss your parenting techniques in a non-judgmental and confidential manner.
You'll learn new skills, experience change and gain a greater degree of clarity and direction for you to apply to your parenting in the future.

Positive Parents workshops are not restricted by numbers. So whether it's a smaller group working closely together with other parents to learn new skills and techniques, or a larger group openly discussing parenting issues and real life scenarios, you'll find that a Positive Parents workshop will allow you to explore your parenting skills to your full potential in a fun and relaxed environment.
