November's Media Coverage

Foster Families is the lifestyle magazine aimed at the Foster Carer and it is a parenting magazine with a twist - as it is informal, chatty and friendly while offering advice on the many difficulties faced when fostering.

It's bursting with real-life stories of other foster carers in similar situations which will encourage you in your fostering role and it also has great sections on topics such as home, food and health.

This month I am featured writing about my passion ...... self esteem for children.

The Autumn 2009 edition of Foster Families Magazine is out now, so if you're a foster carer, ask your fostering service provider if they have ordered a copy for you. Or send an email to subscriptions@fosterfamilies.co.uk to put your name on the mailing list.

Spoke to My Baby Radio which is a great round the clock radio for families and new parents with interviews from celebrity parents, real mums and dads and experts. With podcasts, blogs and ... in November all about Stepfamilies with me -  which will be going out soon - so watch this space !

On 3rd November I spoke with BBC Radio Sussexabout the difficult subject of Bereavement and here's a link to my article that has some practical ideas and support groups that are so very important during this process.Click here to read the article.

Cyber bullying is on the rise, as more and more children have mobile phones and access to the internet.
New research carried out by the Anti-Bullying Alliance (ABA) shows that 1 in 5 children in year 6 have been cyber bullied, and even more secondary school pupils have suffered from cyber bullying.

Cyber bullying might seem like it's difficult to beat - because cyber bullies are less likely to be caught in the act - but there are steps you can take to help protect your child.

Here is my article that went out in the super Good To Know website www.goodtoknow.co.uk

As you know I am a NLP Master Practitioner and Trainer and had the great fortune to be trained by Dr Richard Bandler one of the co - creators of NLP.

Neuro-Linguistic Programming is a highly effective methodology for modelling excellence and creating change in yourself and others. It is based on the principle that all behaviour has a psychological structure that can be identified, learned and adapted to create the outcomes you choose.
NLP enables you to study these patterns and add flexibility, effectiveness and more and better choices to your life.

With NLP, you are able to study and replicate the thought processes used automatically by successful people, and learn to emulate their 'habits of success'. You can employ NLP to help yourself and others develop and improve in any area of life you choose, by changing for good your current habits of mind.

When you use NLP, you will become a more effective negotiator, have a more successful working day and enjoy a happier personal life.

So I am delighted when my articles are published in the very ecellent NLP LIfe TrainingMagazine. To read my article on "Creating Magic Memories for Christmas" that your children will remember for the rest of their lives. Click here

Getting ready for Christmas and worried about how to cope with a bored little toddler while you buy those socks and ties for your father - in - law?  Well my article in November's Issue of Families South East will help !  Click here to read it.

I enjoyed meeting Paul Armstrong from the Kindred Agency  - a social media expert on BBC 1 Breakfast on Saturday 21st November before going off to run another "Confidence Classes  for Kids" Workshop in Harrow

And I appeared on BBC Radio London's Eddie Nestor on BBC London's Drivetime Show discussing the British Heart Foundation Report that says lots of parents have big misconceptions about the amount of exercise their children do.

The report says 71% of nearly 1,000 parents polled think their children are "active enough" but only 10% of their children say they do the recommended amount.
